J36 Crooklands Livestock Auction: J36 Weekly Sale of Sheep with Lambs at Foot, Prime Hoggs & Cast Ewes, Tuesday 17th March 2026.

BREEDING SHEEP

The first sale of sheep with lambs at foot of the season at Junction 36 witnessed a trade so strong it couldn’t split the atom. A much larger entry compared to the sale the previous year, buyers were keen to get stuck into quality with an instilled confidence going forward into the spring lamb season.
All categories were well covered as far as customer demand. Well grown lambs were particularly wanted. Topping today’s market was Harry Blackwell with a quality continental ewe with twin lambs, making £445. There was plenty of close runners to this, with numerous pens over the £400 mark.
Mules were strongly fought for, both twins and singles, per life they averaged £138, with a top price of £400 for a pen of 5 twins from NA Allen.
A large entry is expected next week, with 100 families already entered for next week and more entries to follow.
