In 2013 the old Kendal Auction Mart relocated to an out-of-town purpose built auction adjacent to the M6 motorway off Junction 36.
Now known as J36 Rural Auction Centre, the new site is perfectly situated to serve clients from the Lake District National Park, south Cumbria and Furness peninsular, north Lancashire and north Yorkshire.
Livestock numbers have rapidly increased over the last few years as new customers appreciate the ease of access, the brand new facilities and warm welcome from all the staff.
During 2015 Lancaster Auction Mart celebrates 50 years on its current market site on Wyresdale Road, but has been providing auctioneering services in Lancaster for well over 100 years.
The site is home to one of the north’s largest weekly sale of forward store and feeding cattle, calves and stirks. The sale attracts buyers every week from the northeast, Yorkshire and beyond due to the quality of stock on offer week after week from areas including the Fylde, Morecambe Bay and Trough of Bowland.
The monthly Lancashire Holstein Dairy Club sale is now very firmly on the map and growing in popularity. Sales of dairy cattle have grown by over 400% with over 50 dairy cattle regularly entered each month.
Lancaster also holds a weekly sale of prime and cast sheep each Monday, with seasonal sales of store and breeding sheep as advertised.
You can find our upcoming sale dates, full details of each sale, and how to enter in our sales calendar.
