Swaledale Draft Ewes sell in some style at J36 with a £77.76 increase on the year.

The sale topped at £420 for the day's Champions, a pen of 2 crop ewes from Messrs Wear, Howe Green who enjoyed their day's trading selling other pens of 2 crops to £360, £340 and 2 x £330.  Other pens of ewes to £370 for 3 crops from Drinkall Bros, Catshaw, £350 for RS & BA Harker, Overthwaite, £340 for WE & BE Wilson, Undercragg, £320 for DC & KL Hutchinson, Old Spital with Calderside Farm to £310 and Messrs Folder, Wescoe to £305.

All ewes today averaged a pleasing £244.07 (+ £77.76)

Shearlings sold to £360 from MP & A Capstick, High Lane with pens at £320 from Messrs Wear, Howe Green and JA Alderson, Barras who sold others to £310 on two occasions. Shearlings averaged an impressive £245.94 (+ £52.63).

Gimmer lambs saw pens to £200 and £195 from Fishwick Bros, Longsleddale with the run from Forest Hall topping at £160 on two occasions.
