NWA Lancaster held its collective sale of machinery, tools and equipment on Wednesday 13th March and despite Storm Gareth a large crowd of buyers gathered which saw a strong trade for all items with vendors leaving very pleased with prices achieved. The sale benefitted from having many large items pre-entered with accompanying photos helping to attract buyers.
The star attraction of the sale was a Thomas Skid Steer (2003) from a local farm which sold to a final bid of £4350 finding a new home on a Cumbrian Dairy Fam. A Nissan Terrano achieved £900.
Farm machinery sold to a top price of £1800 for 10ft Lely Power Harrows, £1220 for 8ft Power Harrows, £1140 for a Post Knocker, £650 for a Muck Spreader, £520 for a Vicon Fertiliser Spreader and £400 for a 10ft flat roller.
Livestock equipment sold to £580 for a cattle crush, £1050 for an Ifor Williams livestock trailer, £100 for a root chopper and £85 for hay racks.
A large entry of workshop tools and equipment saw metal cabinets sell to £40, a wood turning lathe sold to £35, a power pack £55, a compressor sold to £40. Other items of interest included an antique wooden horse cart at £125, a Mountfield ride on mower at £270, a galvanised feed bin sold for £28, MF spares sold to £52, a milk churn sold to £50, a honder lawn mower sold for £70 and a childs quad bike sold for £50.
