Another great line up of quality animals for NWA and Hassall Brothers monthly sale of dairy cattle at Lancaster, the sale delivers quality cattle month on month and certainly there is something for every purchaser, for either the commercial milk producer of the pedigree breeder you will be sure to find it at this sale.

A few less buyers around the ringside today due to field commitments with an upturn in the weather, which can always be the case for the April month however the buyers that were in attendance were there to do business.

The show was kindly judged by Sam Bargh and he had a great line up of animals to judge for his Champion he selected Berryholme Abbott Flo a heifer that was first prize in the non halter led heifer class and then went on to be Champion animal she sold for £2,600 to Crossfell House Farm Ltd, of Kirby Thore who secured several other great lots.

H & SD Cornthwaite secured the Reserve Champion rosette with Kirkwood Defender Duchess, this first place cow yielding 39.kg was secured by R E & P Miller of Lingart of Preston for £1,480.

MJ & H Atkinson had a lovely line up of heifers selling to £2,100 for Wyredale Dreamer Sylvia this heifer was the third prize heifer in the non halter led heifer class, yielding 32.kd daily she was purchased by Bradleys Farms LTD, of Preeshall. Mark Atkinson also consigned the second placed heifer, selling to Crossdfell House Farm Ltd for £2,000.

Messrs NW & JM Coulthurst & son of Preston purchased Witherslack Cayle Rose from the Inman Family for £2,000.

Messrs EH & R Eccles consigned a heifer which was a third prize in the haltler led and this really milky heifer yielding 35kg daily was snapped up by Bradleys Farms for £1,980.

R & A Jolleys consigned two lovely heifers selling to £1,900 to a local purchaser.

Other great heifers cruised readily over £1,800 today with plenty of others for other budgets and tastes.
