Calves

A smaller entry of calves this week with all selling to a brisker trade for beef and black and whites. British blue bulls topped at £340 for middle of February born calves from Barker Farms of Carnforth with heifers from the same home selling to £270. No beef calves under £250 today. A brisk trade for the black and whites forward with all being between a two to three weeks of age eagerly bid for with the majority going for rearing this week.

Store Hoggs

The last sale of store hoggs of the season had a reduced entry of under 100 forward. A very mixed entry with many store hogg feeder now either full or finished saw a quiet ring of buyers. The sale topped at £71 from K Gregory of Silverdale with continental bred hoggs. We thank both vendors and purchasers for their continue support through the store lamb and hogg season and looking forward to starting the store lamb season again later in the season.
