Spring Lambs

A slightly larger entry of over 1,200 prime lambs forward today with a more mixed entry of lambs forward and consignments of hill lambs forward, with a market average of 191ppk. Better types of Texel and Beltex lambs sold in excess of 200ppk topping at 213ppk from TR Prickett of Hutton Roof Hall. Heavy weight lambs sold in excess of £90 topping at £95.50 from R Capstick and Son of Fell End.

Prime Cattle

No prime cattle forward today but cattle required.

Cast Sheep

There was 124 Cast Sheep and Rams forward this morning at Lancaster. Overall average today was £58.44. Cast ewes sold well again and were similar to recent weeks. Top price was for a continental at £80 from J & R Waller, Hallbeck and also £80 for a Suffolk from B & J Preston, Ellers Farm.
