A bumper entry of just shy of 2000 lambs. With the trade easing all last week and a lot of lambs available on the marker a tougher trade was endured. An overall average of 152ppk. Heavy weight and light weight lambs in demand and eagerly bid for. Better sorts of lambs good to sell with buyers cautious of lambs lacking finish.


Good show of over 150 ewes. Which sold to a top price of £125 for a trio of Texel ewes from T & CM Kelsall + Sons. Horned sheep to £78 from S Park, with a pen of 13 swales selling to £45 from same home. In general fit sheep a good trade with buyers cautious of over fat sheep. Overall average of £74.


A good show of prime beef this morning, with eight passing through the ring. All sold to pull potential. British Blue steers sold to 199.5ppk from P & A Bell, Village Farm. More beef needed at Lancaster to meet demand of buyers.
