Early Summer Sale of Poultry & Waterfowl

A bustling crowd gathered at the early summer sale of poultry on Saturday 2nd May.
Opening the sale was the dead stock section which saw a fox trap sell to a final call of £140, from VJ Edgar. Bantam arks sold to £50 from S Mackley.
Eggs were forward in plentiful supply, selling to a top of £28 for 6 Butterscotch Call Ducks from
E Jackson, Cockermouth. Hen eggs sold to a top of £18 for a dozen of Araucanas and the sale price for a dozen Speckled Sussex.
All classes of poultry sold well with large fowl reaching a top price of £100 for three Silver Pencilled Wyandottes from Colne based breeder, R Whalley. Bantams sold to £75 for a trio of Blue Partridge Wyandottes again from S Mackley, and a single Pea Hen from the same home to £68.
The next sale is Saturday 4th July at J36.
