Kendal Store Lamb Sale

North West Auctions Kendal held its fortnightly sale of store lambs on Thursday. There was almost 2000 forward of all breeds and types. Good lowland bred lambs were in most demand with buyers from throughout the country looking to purchase resulting in a very decent trade. Top price of the day was £65 to Brian Swindlehurst, Low House for a strong pen of Texel x lambs.

Hill weathers were forward in greater numbers with many pens showing the result of a wet autumn. These were, as expected, harder to sell.

Some regular buyers have yet to start and it is hoped that some drier weather will encourage the store lamb trade rather more.
