An excellent entry of more than 1900 prime sheep were forward at Kendal on Tuesday.  Trade began in a steady fashion but improved through the sale to average 173p/kg.  There was a very tidy quality entry forward and a top price of 197p/kg went to Coward Bros of Kirkby Hall for Texel x lambs purchased by Dunbia (Preston) Ltd.  Lambs also sold to £85 per to EJ Hodgson & Son, Lambrigg Head for lambs purchased by A Ditta of Accrington.  As always lightweight lambs were in great demand selling to a top of 195.5p/kg (£67) for lambs again produced by Coward Bros of Kirkby Hall.  

Another excellent entry of cast ewes averaged £68.88 which was a very strong trade on the day topping £117 to SW Atkinson & Son, Capplerigg Farm.  

There was a small entry of dairy cattle forward for the fortnightly sale.  Dairy heifers averaged a shade under £1600 topping at £1880 to Messrs J & JA Burrow of Thursgill.
