Kendal Tuesday 7th December

Posted Wednesday, 08 December 2010, 1.30pm

North West Auctions Kendal Mart enjoyed a very cold but successful Christmas prize show & sale of lowland breed prime lambs on Tuesday. Numbers forward were very much affected by the persistent sub zero temperatures with less than 1100 lambs forward. The Christmas prize show was judged by Mr Jim Hadwin butcher of Mansergh who buys many quality lambs a Kendal through the year.

Championship honours were awarded to JW & A Matthews, Oldfield End whose Texel lambs went onto make £94 per head (214p/kg) and were purchased by the judge.
