Dairy Sell to £2720 at Popular Lancaster Friday Dairy Sale.
North West Auctions held its first Friday sale for all classes of Dairy Cattle. This week saw a large crowd of buyers in attendance keen to secure additional and replacement stock. A fast trade was seen throughout the sale with all vendors leaving well suited with prices achieved.
The sale peaked at £2720 for Wyredale Lambda Roxy 4, a fresh 2nd calved cow from MJ & H Atkinson, Quernmore. Heifers sold to a top of £2350 for Garsby Mardi Gras Rolie 2, the first of a trio of heifers from W & G Cornthwaite & Son, Claughton-on-Brock with others at £2250 for Wyredale Superhero Nina 82 from MJ & H Atkinson, Quernmore and also from Drinkhall Bros, Over Wyresdale with Pennie Poppy 1619 selling for the same price. Closely followed by R & A Jolley, Cabus achieving £2100 with Robanne Jones Sarah. All heifers averaged £2160.
Youngstock attracted keen interest with in calf heifers achieving £1750 and £1720 from JW & DL Park, Ellel, and bulling heifers to £880 and £860 from DR & C Galbraith, Grayrigg.
