Prime Lambs
North West Auctions Lancaster had its weekly sale of Prime Lambs selling to a very similar trade to the previous week with an overall market average 158p/kg. Well-meated heavy lambs were in the strongest demand today. Topping the market at £90 or 196p/kg was Texel Lambs from B & SE Carter, Ellel. A consignment of Texel lambs from JK & BE Townley, Brookhouse sold to £81 and £80, twice. WM Pye, Ashton-with-Stodday sold Texel lambs to £81 with the consignment of Texel lambs from RS & IM Kellet, Cockerham sell to £79.50 and £79, with PD Anderton twice selling lambs to £78. Mule lambs sold to a top of £76 from WM Pye. Horned lambs sold to £57 from JJ & D Huddleston, Caton with Swaledales selling to £56 from JR & J Gorst, Quernmore.

Cast Ewes saw Texels twice topped at £76 from JK & BE Townley, Brookhouse. Texel tups sold to £70 from M Berry, Stalmine. Hill bred ewes saw Cheviots sell to £48 from SE & J Gorst, Littledale with Swaledales selling to £46 from KJ & KM Curwen, Abbeystead.
