Prime Lambs
A larger entry of 400 Prime Hoggs forward this week at Lancaster selling to an overall market average of 200p/kg.
There were plenty of continental hoggs selling in excess of 210p/kg topping at 219p/kg for Texel’s from T & CM Kelsall of Chipping.
Once again plenty of heavier hoggs sold in excess of £100 topping at £111 for Suffolk’s from G Riley of Bolton le Sands, FK & F Woodhouse of Scorton selling Leicester’s to £110 and MJ & K Ayrton of Thurnham selling Texel’s to £108
Mule Hoggs sold to a top of £94 or 209p/kg from AG Butler of Hambleton, with horned hoggs to 205p/kg or £84 for Scottish Blackfaces from WM Pye of Ashton with Stodday.
Cast Sheep
A larger entry of cast sheep in the market sold to a stronger trade with all well bid for.
The trade topped at £79 firstly for Continental ewes from MJ & C Lund of Quernmore and then again for Mule ewes from FK & F Woodhouse of Scorton. Plenty of others ewes sold in the seventies.
Horned ewes sold to £69 and £66 from FK & F Woodhouse of Scorton.
