Prime Lambs

The bank holiday sale of Prime Lambs had an entry in excess of 500 forward. Well-fleshed 41kg upward lambs were in strong demand and were well sold, with leaner and smaller lambs harder to place. The trade topped at £100 for Texel Lambs from J & E Nuttall of Old Hutton, with heavy weight lambs regularly selling around the £90 mark. Beltex lambs sold to 205p/kg or £82 from RH & C Ayrton, Abbeystead. Mule lambs from the same home sold to a top of £73.50 with plenty of pens selling the early seventies.

Cast Sheep

The was only a small number of cast ewes on off this morning, with Texel Ewes selling to a top of £76 from A & E Clarkson, Thurnham with other Texel ewes selling around the £70 mark.
