Prime Lambs

A larger show of Lambs forward, with new companies represented around the ringside this week. A sale average of 160p/kg was achieved, a trade in line with the national average towards the end of last week.
Top price of the day was achieved by JA&VM Lamb of Conder Green Farm at 189p/kg, with a top price per head coming from S Park of Highfield Farm and WN&D Smith & Sons of Cocker House Farm selling at £80.00.
Hill Bred Lambs selling well today, with heavy Mule Lambs achieving over the £70 mark on several occasions. Top price in the Mule section at £74 was a pen from A Butler of Park Farm Barn, followed by S Park of Highfield Farm at £73 and JS&S Atkinson of Sykes Farm at £71. Cheviots selling to £68 from SE&J Gorst of Cragg Farm and Dalesbred Lambs to £65 from BD&PM Gill & Son of Yarlsber.

Cast Sheep

A small entry of Cast Sheep forward today, with the recent wet weather conditions starting to reflect the quality of sheep forward.
