The North West Suffolks breeders club show and sale of Suffolk females saw a cracking entry forward, with the biggest show seen at Junction 36, being full of quality and the sale attracted interest from far and wide. The pre sale show was in the capable hands of Jim Irving who awarded the prizes as followed:

Topping the sale was the much admired champion one crop ewe Raikes NCW:21:00264, sired by Benrafton Boris, in lamb to the Hyton Firecracker and scanned with twins which went on to sell for 1600gns. Topping off a good night for Richard Batty he sold Sullom FTP:22:00702, a gimmer shearling also in lamb to Hyton Firecracker which sold for 1100gns. The consignment from Messrs Hewson saw their best in lamb shearling, Vallum AHW:22:05045 sell to 1000gns. A special mention must go to the part reduction of the Urswick flock on behalf of James and Caroline Airey, which saw their best sell to 650gns for Urswick STX:20:01273, in lamb to Morris Magnum.
Buyers were showing keen interest in well grown hoggs, showing a depth of pedigree as future flock replacements, with a 100% sale clearance achieved and gimmer hoggs going to all four corners of the UK. Gimmer lambs peaked at 800gns for a home bred lamb consigned by G Richmond of the Sullom flock, sired by Sullom Simply the Best. Others sold to 700gns for Thornfleet CWC:23:00399 consigned by TA Blair, with Morris T31:23:00705 consigned by GM Owen selling to the same price.
The sale also included multi breed females, the annual consignment of in lamb Charollais females from RJ&J Towers created plenty of interest with the best selling to 700gns. Other in lamb Charollais sold to 650gns from J Stott Jnr. In lamb Texels from Harry Geldard saw his best sell to 500gns twice. A run of geld Dutch Spotted gimmer lambs from SC Walker peaked at 600gns twice.
