North West Auctions we proud to once again be hosting the North West Texel breeders club show and sale followed by the annual show and sale of individual Beltex females on behalf of the Beltex sheep society.
The North West Texel Breeders Club show and sale of Pedigree females continues to gain a strong reputation of a good sale to market pedigree individual females. The day commenced with the pre-sale show kindly sponsored by Agri Lloyd. This year once again saw some strong show classes for the judge Robert Cockburn of the Knap Flock to cast his expert eye over, whom we thank for his time and expertise. He awarded the Championship to lot 18, a much-admired gimmer shearling sired by Usk Vale Cheeky Charlie and scanned in-lamb with twins to Bradleys Eubank consigned by Proctors Farm which went on to sell for 1800gns to DM&S Prince of the Stonedge Flock. Reserve Champion was awarded to the first prize ewe lamb lot 109 from James Theyer of the Clanfield flock, sired by Hope Valley C the Stars went on to sell for 1800gns to R Wilson of the Eden Valley flock. Joint record top price for this sale at J36 at 4000gns was lot 80 from the renowned Usk Vale pedigrees. This very modern stylish gimmer had attracted a lot of pre-sale interest, sired by the renowned Hexel Born to be Wild and scanned with twins to Moorwood Eurostar selling to RC&N Ellis of the Eglur flock, a successful day for the Usk Vale flock as they also went on to achive 2000gns for lot 82 this Hope Valley C The Stars gimmer sold to RE Wood & Sons. The next call at 2700gns was from the renowned Rhaeadr flock consigned by M Evans, this powerful ewe lamb sired by Sportsman Dare Devil and purchased by Sandra Ireton of the Moreton Park flock. This was closely followed by 2500gns from C Boden of the Mellor Vale flock with an in-lamb gimmer shearling, full sister to Mellor Vale Dakota, sired by Garngour Craftsman, carrying twins to Haymount Eye of the Beholder selling to local flock R&E Ladds of the Benson Hall flock. Other noted prices were 1800gns for lot 36, the pen leader from the Stainton flock of PK&F Woof with a Auldhouseburn Bolt daughter carrying twins to Hill Top Escobar, purchased by W Holdens & Sons of Bold Venture flock.
