J36 Crooklands Livestock Auction: J36 Calf Sale, Thursday 17th December 2020

The last sale of calves for 2020 continued to sell to a fast trade with 40 calves forward.

David Galbraith led the way with a great run of calves; a British Blue bull from this good home selling to a top of £370 and heifer calves from the same home selling to £315.

A few native bred calves were forward. Aberdeen Augus bulls peaked at £315 from HJ Robinson & Son Preston Patrick. Black and Whites sold to another strong trade at J36 with a peak of £140 from MA & S Johns Brough, with medium types selling between £50 - £65. All black and whites forward averaged £81.

Heifer Calf: British Blue - £315, £310, £250 Sunny Bank, £210 Whitbarrow Farm, £200 Sunny Bank. Aberdeen Angus - £170, £108 Selgin House. Hereford - £110 Whitbarrow Farm.

Heifer Stirk:
British Blue - £400 Bellart Howe. Aberdeen Angus - £390 Bellart Howe.
