J36 Crooklands Livestock Auction: Second Sale of Breeding Ewes & Gimmer Shearlings - Saturday 22nd September

The second sale of Breeding Ewes and Gimmer Shearlings had a catalogue entry of 1500. There was a respectable trade throughout with a high clearance rate, with the vendors leaving satisfied on the year. Best Mule shearlings sold in excess on £120, selling to a top of £130 twice from JS & KM Wilson & Son, Helsington. The trade was topped today by Cheviot Mules again by JS & KM Wilson & Son selling to £135. All Mule shearlings forward averaged just short of £110. Mule ewes sold to a top of £115, twice, from TH Gibson & Son, Kendal with strong Mules regularly selling over the £100 mark and older ewes selling either side of ninety pounds.
