J36 Crooklands Livestock Auction: Store Lambs Thursday 16th August

The fortnightly sale of Store Lambs had an entry in excess of 1,000 forward. The trade would be similar, if not a little sharper, with the lambs forward being less in size then the previous sale. The sale topped at £70.50 for Texels from G Nelson of Brigsteer with lambs from the same home selling to £69. Texels also sold to £69 from JA Chapman of Kendal. Suffolks sold to a top of £67.50 from TJ Beaty of Troutbeck with others selling to £66 from JW & D Robinson of Farleton. Strong lambs sold in excess of the £60 pound mark. Mules topped at £60 from RI Dixon of Low Newton with many consignors of Mules selling a couple pound up on the week. Medium keep lambs often selling mid to late fifties.
