Lancaster Livestock Auction: Dairy Cattle - Tuesday 17th September

LANCASTER DAIRY SELL TO £2350

There was a tremendous catalogued entry on offer for North West Auctions monthly catalogued show and sale at Lancaster which was under the scrutiny of judge Andrew Wilson of the Northshields herd from Fife, Scotland.

Leading today's trade was Messrs J Burrow & Son, Preston who sold Stardale Uno Vaakje an Amigetti Numero Uno daughter from the strong Stardale Destry Vaakje line. Taking this one at £2350 was volume buyer Dyfig Davies, Camarthan.

Enchanted Holsteins sold Enchanted Close Up Avis, sired by Stantons Close up Et, was the pick of Smallthwaite Farms selling at £2200.

Today’s Champion, Witherslack Kimball Mab sired by the Seagull-Bay Slvr Kimball Et, from The Inman Family, Witherslack, headed to Fife, with today's Judge Andrew Wilson at £2050.

The Red and White coated Denhamhill Rooster Peggy Red from Messrs E H & R Eccles sired by Spruce-Haven Rooster Red was the first prize heifer and sold at £2050 to Dyfig Davies. A trio of heifers made £2000.

Messrs AB & J Parkinson & Son sold Liscabank Topsy Ruth by De-Su 11228 Topsy Et, to volume buyer Bradley Farms.

Having a good day at Lancaster was James Burrows who, with a great team, sold Stardale Ikoo Vaakje a Schrago Adonis Ikoo Et daughter to IJ & CA Metcalfe, Preston.

The final heifer at £2000 was, again, from Stardale, Apprentice Stella sired by Endco Apprentice buyer here was Messrs R Snowden & Son, Thirsk.

Leading the cows was Messrs H Wright & Son, who sold the 2nd calved Berryholme Gold Chip Flo by Mr Chassity Gold Chip Et, from the famous Flo family, taking this one at £2000 was MJ & K Ayrton, Thurnham.

The September sale of Holstein breeding bulls had entries forward from J Burrow & Son. It was lot 75, Stardale Scottie, sired by Croteau Lesperron Unix ET, that achieved the top price of £1600, going home with R & J Breeze. Two other bulls from J Burrow & Son, Stardale Helios sired by Monumnet Impression ET and Stardale Vickers sired by Pine-Tree Splendid-P ET Proc RDC sell to £1500.
