Lancaster Lads annual show & sale of Terminal Sire Breeding Rams was met by a good audience of buyers and spectators leading to another successful evening sale. Buyers were looking to invest their money in powerful good conformation tups.
Thanks go to our pre-sale judges Mr Andrew Bailey and Mr Trevor Smith who we thank for their time and expertise. There was a strong line up of tups for them to cast their eyes over. The overall Champion rosette was awarded to the Champion Charollais Shearling from JA & R Geldard & Sons, Levens that went on to sell for £380. The Reserve Champion rosette was awarded to the first prize Beltex shearling from ST Birkett & Son, Carnforth.
A fantastic annual consignment of Suffolks from JH Towers & Sons, Tunstall were met with plenty of interest selling to £720, £600 and £500. Suffolk Shearlings from S & G Mellor, Staffordshire twice sold to £500.
Texel Tups sold to a top of £600 from the Ayrton Family, Bambers Farm followed Texel tups from T & CM Kelsall & Sons, Chipping selling to £580 and £500. Other Texel tups that sold to £500 were from Hazel Carter, Ellel and S & G Mellor.
Tup lambs sold to a top of £350 twice for Suffolks from SC Walker, Tarporley.
There was a high clearance right with Suffolk shearlings averaging £376 and Texel shearlings averaging £350.
