Prime Lambs

A larger entry of over 400 prime lambs forward, sold to an overall market average of 170p/kg. Topping the trade at £97 was Texel lambs from TR Prickett, Hutton Roof, who also sold other Texels to 189p/kg. This was closely followed by lambs at 188p/kg, twice, from RH & C Ayrton Ltd, Abbeystead and E Lund & Song, Ingleton. Suffolk lambs sold to a top of £84 from K & LA Woodhouse, Scorton. A few more Mules on offer today, sold to a top of £74.50 from JS & S Atkinson, Scoton, this was followed by RH & C Ayrton Ltd selling Mules to £74.

Cast Sheep

A few more cast sheep on offer today sold to a top of £83 for Continental Ewes from G & D Ball & Son, Great Eccleston. Mule ewes sold to a top of £76 from M & L Preece, Kirkby Lonsdale. Plenty of Mule ewes were selling in the mid sixties. Horned ewes topped at £36 for Swaledales from M & L Preece, Kirkby Lonsdale.
