Spring Lambs
The weekly sale Prime Lambs at Lancaster sold a more buoyant trade this week, with an overall average of 179p/kg, with the trade feeling stronger than the average with quite a lot of weight forward this week. Pens of lambs were regulary selling around the £80 mark or more. Topping the trade today at £96 or 200p/kg was JK & BE Townley, Brook House with Texel Lambs. Other Texel lambs sold to £94 from S Dickinson, Ellel. Suffolk trade topped at £92 from AG & GM Rowlinson, Killington. Beltex lambs sold to a top of 200p/kg twice from Ian T Richardson, Goosnargh. Texels sold to 198p/kg from PD Pye, Over Wyresdale. A few more Mules on the market today topped at £75.50 from D & J Hay, Cockerham with others to £75 from B & SE Carter, Ellel.
Cast Sheep
A few more cast sheep on the market today, but still a long way short for buyers requirements. Texel ewe sold to a top of £61 from D Cockett, Ingleton, with Mule ewes to £57 from the same home. A few more hills ewes about sold to £41 from D Cockett.
