Prime Hoggs

This morning’s sale saw a smaller entry of lambs forward where more could have easily been sold to the advantage of the vendor.

Topping the market today was AG Butler of Hambleton selling a pair of Continental Hoggs to £95 and also a pen of Charollais Hoggs selling to the same price. Texel Lambs sold to a top of 207p/kg from Bargh Contractors of Morecambe.

Horned Lambs sold to a top of £66 for Scotch Blackface Hoggs from WM Pye of Ashton with Stodday. Swale Hoggs sold to £60 from KM & KJ Curwen of Abbeystead.
The overall sale average was 183p/kg.

Cast Sheep

A small entry of Cast Sheep in the market this morning. Topping today was a Mule from PW & DW Roskell of Pilling selling to £80.

Texel Ewes sold to £66 from WW Hunter & Sons of Cockerham.
