Lancaster Livestock Auction: Primestock Monday 25th September

Prime Lambs

There was a small entry of prime lambs this week following the dip in trade. Well finished, heavy lambs were in good demand and easy to sell. Grass fed, leaner types were harder to place, with buyers very cautious for this type of lamb. As always, quality lambs are good to sell with lambs from J & R Waller, Hallbeck selling to £84 and JK & BE Townley, Mearbeck selling for £89.

Cast Sheep

Heavy and well fleshed sheep were a good trade with leaner ewes very hard to sell. There is a large amount of these on the market at the moment due to the wet summer weather.

Prime Bulls

An entry of two bulls in the Mart from P & A Bell, Pilling which are always good to sell, selling to 194.5p/kg.
