Prime Lambs

A full ringside of buyers saw a larger entry of Prime Lambs forward which sold to an easier trade on the week.

Prime Lambs sold to £83 from AJ Ellis of Staveley for a pen of Texels, who also sold others to £81. Lambs today sold to a top of 180p/kg, again, from the same home.
Suffolk Lambs sold to a top of £75 for a pen of 15 from EE Thornton & Son of Heaton with Oxcliffe.

An overall market average of 155p/kg was achieved.

Cast Sheep

A smaller entry of Cast Sheep forward this morning due to a larger number forward across the county affecting the overall trade.

Cast Sheep saw a top of £55 for Mules from JE & J Pye & Son of Gibsons Farm. Texel Ewes sold to a top of £50 firstly from P & AJ Whitaker of Quernmore and also for a pen from GA Haston & Son of Galgate.

All Cast Sheep forward sold to an overall average of £46.54.
