Store Hoggs

The final sale of Store Hoggs of the season saw all hoggs once again well bid for. Cheviot Mule gimmer hoggs sold to £115 from J & C Denney, Old Tebay with Texel hoggs from the same home selling to £112, £111 and £110 twice. Texel hoggs from JH Atkinson & Partners, Selside sold to £114 and £113.50. Other Texel hoggs sold to £113 from M Grunnill, Ayside.

Strong Continental and Suffolk hoggs sold in excess of the £100 mark. Mule hoggs sold to a top of £102 from WJ & I France & Son, Chipping with others to £101 from J Taylor, Kendal. Horned hoggs peaked at £83 from JF Cook, Grange over Sands with Swaledales twice selling to £79 from WJ & I France & Son, Chipping and Messrs Hodgson, Rydal.

This season has seen a major growth with over 13,000 additional Store Hoggs sold this season attracting buyers from near and far. We would like to thank all our customers for their continued support. We wish you a good lambing season and look forward to seeing you again in the near future.
