The second sale of Breeding Ewes & Gimmer Shearlings at J36 saw a buoyant trade throughout with plenty of people forward, eager to purchase sheep. The sale commenced with ewes with pure Suffolk ewes selling to £200 from S Corward, Grange over Sands. Continental ewes sold to a top of £155 twice from E Cross, Kendal and R Smith, Greenodd with others from the same home selling to £150. Mule ewes sold to a top of £128 from FI & ME Little, Barrows Green with others selling to £125 twice from J & J Huck, Burneside and JR Park, Ulverston. Plenty of pens of strong Mule ewes sold around the £120 mark. All Mule ewes forward averaged £112.95.

The Gimmer Shearling trade topped at £210 for pure Suffolk shearlings from S Coward, Grange over Sands. Continental gimmer shearlings saw Beltex sell to a top of £195 and £185 from TJ Jackson, Preston with Texel shearlings to £180 and £175 from E & H Winder, Ravenstonesdale. Mule gimmer shearlings saw the consignment form TH Gibson & Son, Staveley that have lambed sell to £200, £180 and £170. Other Mule gimmer shearlings sold to £175 from AW & AM Clarke, Windermere. All Mule gimmer shearlings forward averaged £147.42.
