The fortnightly sale of Store Lambs at J36 had an entry of 2,610, selling to another strong trade with plenty of buyers ringside looking to purchase all types of lambs. There was, once again, plenty of interest in short term and best conformation lambs which sold to a buoyant trade. Beltex lambs sold to a top of £79 and £76 from Ian T Richardson of Catforth with other Beltex lambs selling to S Thompson of Grange-Over-Sands selling to £77. Charollais lambs sold to a top of £76 from WT & EM Townley & Son of Carnforth. Texel lambs sold to a top £75 and £74 from DR & C Galbraith of Grayrigg with Suffolk lambs selling to £73.50 from PG Thornton of Scorton. Plenty of short term lambs sold around the £70 mark. Hill bred lambs saw plenty of trade with Rough Fell lambs selling to £72 from G Armstrong of Ulverston. Mules sold to £70.50 from D Wood of Horwich, with Mashams selling to £70.50 from JE Read of Hutton Roof. There was plenty of pens of Mules with frame selling into the early sixties.

Horned and Herdwick lambs saw plenty of attention from buyers with pens of Rough Fells often into the forties, Swaledales sold into the mid-thirties topping at £36.50 from TW & J Beaty of Troutbeck and averaged £32.42. Herdwick and cross lambs sold to the thirties for the strongest lambs averaging £27.93.
