‘The safety of our Staff and Customers is of paramount importance’

Please find below the North West Auctions company policy to enable Livestock vendors to re-enter sales at North West Auctions; J36 Rural Auction Centre and Lancaster.

In accordance with the advice and guidance supplied by the Livestock Auctioneers Association, North West Auctions HIGHLY RECOMMEND that all vendors and buyers wear face mask/coverings when inside the building (face coverings must be provided by the customer). It is optional for staff to wear face coverings; these will be provided by the company as requested.

LANCASTER

All vendors and buyers to enter via the top door near the office. They are to be greeted by a member of staff and signed in. Strictly only one vendor permitted per consignment of livestock. Hand sanitiser to be readily available at sign-in point.

LANCASTER - FRIDAY

CAST COWS /OTM

At the moment it is not safe to allow Cast Cow/OTM vendors to enter the OTM ring due to the lack of social distancing. This will be reviewed regularly and any changes will be notified immediately.

CALVES

Calf vendors are allowed to enter the market via the top door and stay with their livestock in the pens. No Vendors are permitted to enter the building via the docks.

Vendors are allowed to show their calves in the ring stood on the designated location to allow safe social distancing from both auction staff and buyers.

Once the calves have been sold, they may go to the office to get sale remittance of their prices and then immediately leave the site. Social distancing and maximum numbers in the office to be observed at all times. Luck money instructions are to be left with the office or on the “Sale Instruction” sheets. Vendors are not permitted to hand out luck money to buyers.

STORE CATTLE

Store Cattle vendors are allowed to enter the market via the top door. Vendors must wait for their store cattle to be sold in the main ring above the black railings (in the main ring) and adhere to socially distance rulings. No vendors are to stand ringside in close proximity to buyers. No vendors are allowed in the penning areas with livestock for health and safety reasons. No Vendors are permitted to enter the building via the unloading docks.

Vendors are to come down to the ring at the time of their cattle being sold. Once sold they must may go to the office to get sale remittance of their prices and then immediately vacate the site. Social distancing and maximum numbers in the office to be observed at all times. Luck money instructions to be left with the office. Vendors not permitted to hand out luck money to buyers.

LANCASTER - MONDAY

Sheep vendors are allowed to enter the market via the top door where they must sign in and stay with their livestock in the pens. No Vendors permitted to enter building via the unloading docks.

Vendors are allowed to show their Sheep in the ring stood on the designated location to allow safe social distancing from both auction staff and buyers.

Once the vendor’s consignment of Sheep has been sold, they can collect sale remittance of their prices from the sheep rostrum, they must then immediately vacate the site. Luck money instructions to be left with the office. Vendors not permitted to hand out luck money to buyers.

J36 RURAL AUCTION CENTRE

All vendors and buyers to attend via the main doors. All to be greeted by a member of staff and signed in. Hand sanitiser to be readily available at sign-in point. Strictly only one vendor permitted per consignment of livestock.

J36 TUESDAY & THURSDAY SHEEP SALES

Sheep vendors are allowed to enter the market via the main doors where they must sign in and stay with their livestock in the pens. No Vendors permitted to enter via the unloading docks.

Vendors are allowed to show their Sheep in the ring stood on the designated location to allow safe social distancing from both auction staff and buyers.

Once the vendor’s consignment of Sheep has been sold, they must immediately vacate the site. They can collect their sale remittance of their prices from the main foyer reception desk. Luck money instructions to be left on the “Sale Instructions Sheet” or with staff in the reception. Vendors are not permitted to hand out luck money to buyers.

No Vendors permitted to enter the office at J36.

J36 CATTLE SALES

Cattle vendors are allowed to enter the market via the main doors where they must sign in. No Vendors permitted to enter via the unloading docks. Vendors must wait for their store cattle to be sold in the ring one. No vendors to be stood ringside in close proximity to buyers. No vendors allowed in the penning areas with livestock for health and safety reasons.
