PRIME LAMBS
666 lambs were forward with all selling to a competitive trade, to include 105 Swaledale wethers with an overall averaged of 242p/kg achieved. Smart bred Continental lambs achieved a nice trade with Beltexs selling to £143 from GR&A Foy, Conder Green. Texel sold to £140 from AG Butler, Hambleton with Suffolks selling to £138 from TM Townley, Over Wyresdale. Heavy lambs full of meat continue to add up nicely, regularly selling at £125 to £132. A nice trade for meated farm assured, export type lambs with these regularly selling at 255p/kg to 265p/kg or £108 to £115 per head. Mules saw a top of £114 for a pen of twenty two from R Capstick & Son, Ingleton with Cheviots selling to £113 from KM&KJ Curwen, Abbeystead. Top pence per for kilo was 325p/kg from GR&A Foy, Conder Green with the same good home selling Texels to 311p/kg. Smart bred lambs were regularly selling at 280p/kg to 290p/kg.

CAST SHEEP
Ewes sold to a solid trade with Beltexs selling to £138 from G&RA Foy, Conder Green with a pen of Suffolks selling to £100 from DJ&MC Platts, Caton. No real heavy Mule ewes were forward, with a full ring selling to £75 from B&SE Cater, Ellel. More ewes are needed on a weekly basis to fulfil buyers requirements.
