Prime Lambs

The weekly sale of Prime Lambs at Lancaster sold to a sharper trade with an overall market average of 170p/kg achieved with an SQQ average of 172p/kg. All buyers were keen to purchase lambs with all weight rangers in demand. Topping the trade today at £93 or 198p/kg R Collinge & Son, Kirkham who also sold Texel Lambs to £86 and £85. Suffolk Lambs sold to a top of £84 from H Birkett & Son, Overton with other Suffolk lambs selling to £83 from HJ & BE Kelsall, Gressingham. Better conformation and well-finished lambs were selling around the 180p/kg mark. Mules sold to a top of £69 for 43kg lambs from RG & H Preece, Roeburndale.

Cast Sheep

Cast ewes today sold to a top of £60 for Texels from A & FM Bolland, Ellel with Mules topping at £50 from the same home.
