The perfect storm brewing at Junction 36!
Pedigree in lamb sheep were an ice cool trade from start to finish for all breeds.
BELTEX
North West Auction held its annual in lamb sale of pedigree sheep on behalf of the Beltex sheep society. The pre-sale show was kindly judged by Liam Swinnerton, who made the following prize awards:

A ewe topped the Beltex trade at 900gns, which was the champion sheep on the day consigned by Messrs Jennings of the Hallcrake flock. Beltex shearlings ewes sold to 700gns from TC Whitford of the Tercrossett flock. Ewe lambs hit 500gns twice from DE Owen, who received first prize and reserve champion for one of his run.
TEXEL
The North West Texel Breeders Club annual show and sale of individual pedigree Texel in lamb females and ewe lambs was once again met with a good following at Junction 36 Rural Auction Centre. The pre sale show was kindly judged by James Porter of the Saltcotes Flock, and he awarded the following results;

Texel trade continued the day in the same good fashion, with an exceptional clearance rate to match.
D Gray of the Tima flock topped the sale with a gimmer shearling selling for 2800gns. The overall champion from Messrs Boden & Davies, a fantastic shearling sold for 2000gns. Messrs Gray of the Ettrick flock sold a gimmer for 1800gns, with Boden & Davies selling one for 1500gns.
Pedigree ewe lambs saw a phenomenal amount of interest, with vendors rewarded for the quality put forward today. They peaked at 1500gns for the days reserve champion, lot 141 consigned by D&J Dunlop of the Holtridge flock, with its stablemate lot 143 consigned by R Dunlop achieving 1400gns.
The sale featured the Beautry dispersal on behalf of S Currie, Rathmell which saw ewes and shearlings to 700gns. However, topping this consignment was the much-admired ewe lamb lot 157 reaching 800gns. This dispersal sold to an average of £535.

BADGER FACE TEXEL
The sale also included a section for Badger Face Texels, these saw keen bidding from near and far. The sale reached a top of 1000gns for a ewe lamb (lot 305) consigned by Hannah Pedley of the High Ploughlands flock. A consignment of ewes from A&S Miles of the Red Syke flock reached 650gns.
DUTCH SPOTTED
Dutch Spotted society sale also attracted spirited bidding, this section topped at 1000gns for in lamb shearlings from J Stead of the Middlemoor flock, with other shearlings to 700gns from D Bezuidenhout of the Black Dub flock. Ewe lambs sold to 750gns from J Stead, with the consignment from JA Dixon of the Grayrigg Foot flock reaching 500gns twice.
MULTI BREEDS
The multi breed sale saw in lamb Charollais ewes from RJ&J Towers, Ingleton sell to 650gns, with Suffolks from this same good farming to 550gns. The run of Rouge and Rouge cross ewes from I McConnell, Dumfries reached 450gns twice.
