The Ambleside Show and Sale of Gimmer Lambs had a nice entry of 1500 lambs with a real buzz around the ring of both local and travelled buyers. The pre-sale show was kindly judged by Tom Proll from Devon and sponsored by RE Consultants, MB Nutrition, Carrs Billington and The Milking Parlour.

The Champion pen of lambs sold to a top price of £275 from R Lawrence, Field Broughton. This cracking run of lambs also saw other pens sell to £200. A pen of sweet running lambs from AC & K Pye sold to £160, with the nicer pens regularly selling at £140 - £150. With smaller runners regularly selling at £128 - £132.
Rough Fell Mules saw more interest than in previous years with the best pens selling to £160 from I & J Mallinson, Selside with other pens to £142 from TLB & J Knowles, Selside. A lovely run of Lleyn Mules from P Knowles, New Hutton saw a top of £192 with others selling to £170, with Cheviot Mules selling to £160 from JD & PH Thompson & Sons, Selside.
An overall average was achieved of £128, this being £27.50 up on the year.
