PRIME LAMBS
More lambs were forward with1180 going through the ring, and a pleasing averaged of 305p/kg achieved for all forward. Once again, all buyers were looking for well meated lambs, with under finished sorts still harder to place. The best bred lambs sold to 372p/kg from WS Burrow & Son, Silverdale, with these regularly over the 350p/kg mark. Nice commercial types were regularly 305p/kg to 315p/kg.

CAST SHEEP
338 cast sheep were forward, selling to a top of £218 for a Texel from Thrimby Farms, Penrith, with others at £216 from E&H Winder, Kirkby Stephen. Suffolk ewes sold equally as well, reaching £188 from F&SA Edmondson, Ulverston. All powerful pure bred sheep exceeded the £180 mark. JA&R Geldard, Levens sold Lleyns to £162, with Drinkall Bros, Over Wyresdale topping the Mules at £158. All well fleshed Mules were regularly £130 upwards. Hill ewes sold to a top of £125 for Cheviots from J Brown, Ambleside, with Swaledales to £120 from Drinkall Bros, Over Wyresdale and Rough Fells to £114 from EJ Hodgson, Lambrigg. All well meated horned ewes surpassed the £90 mark, with the next grade down £60 to £80.
