PRIME LAMBS

Butchers Bonanza sale sees Christmas come early for vendors. Despite a slightly lower pence per kilo average in the week, many lambs made the same or more as the previous sale with buyers proving just slightly more picky and a longer number of lighter lambs forward.
The champion pen of sheep today topped at 500p/kg for three exceptional Beltexs from J Smith, Brookhouse. These were bought by the days judge George Hamlet of Hamlets Butchers, Garstang who did a fantastic job of judging our thirty one trios forward for the pre sale show.
