Pigs sell to £165 at NWA J36
A large entry of pigs forward with a top price of £165 achieved for a pen of four Duroc x gilts from JM Navesey, Darwen who also sold hogs of the same breeding at £148. These pigs also topped the market at 183p/kg. Other well finished pigs sold to £122, £108, £106 and £100.
Eight buyers were present keen to secure well finished prime pigs, unfortunately todays sale had a very large portion of under weight and under finished pigs which were severely penalised.
Store pigs sold to £44 for Large White x from j GE Heseltine & Son, Skipton with weaners selling to £32 for Gloucester Old Spot from P Martin, Barnard Castle.
Buyers are encouraged to pre enter pigs ahead of the next sale on Tuesday 22nd November to assist with canvassing buyers, over half the entry today were unentered.
