A new record high price for the General sale of Horses, Ponies and Donkeys
The autumn General sale of Horses, Ponies and Donkeys at J36 Rural Auction Centre had a catalogued entry of 174, with over 200 lots of tack. Once again, there was a packed house for the horse sale with buyers and spectators travelling from far and wide to attend the sale.
The sale peaked at 2,900gns for Regent Hot Chocolate, a Welsh x TB 8-year-old 15hh gelding, that had done all pony club activities including showjumping, cross country and camp. This much-admired horse attracted a lot of interest.
This was closely followed by 2,600gns for Kizzie, a 5-year-old black Friesan x cob mare. Selling to 1,650gns was Rhydycan Onyx, a 12year old Welsh Section D Mare, a lovely 14.2hh eye-catching liver chestnut white socked mare. Selling to 1,250gns was a 16.2hh 11-year-old Irish Draught gelding.
The tack section of the sale peaked at £400 for a Ladies Antique side saddle circa 1815, closely followed by £260 for a pony/cob saddle.
