Lancaster Dairy Sale Champion sells for £2,200
NWA Lancaster Auction Mart held a special December sale of new calved dairy with a large crowd of buyers present, many of them keen, but unable to make purchases. Judging this month was Mr Peter Dakin, who had a fine show of cattle presented before him. Following the judging of the 5 classes, he awarded Champion of the day to Finigan Fab Cut Emmilia (pictured above with left Peter Dakin (judge) and Brian Brumby (vendor) from Ballakillingan Farms Ltd., 3 weeks calved, giving 30 litres she sold to N & J S Sanderson of Lanercost for the day’s top price of £2,200. Reserve champion was awarded to Sandley Present 79 from G H Sanderson & family, just 10 days calved she sold for £2,000 to K & D E Woodhouse, Ellel. Cows saw the strongest demand selling to £1,980 twice for fresh 2nd calved cows from Drinkall Brothers, Over Wyresdale.
