Kendal Auction Mart

Kendal Auction Mart is ideally situated at the gateway to the English Lakes with excellent transport links to the rest of the country via the M6. We attract high quality stock from the Lake District National Park and, since the closure of the Sedbergh market, from the Yorkshire Dales. The manager of the Sedbergh Market, Laurie Kay, is now based at Kendal and continues to offer the same high level of service to his clients in the Dales as ever.

Our breeding stock has the best reputation in the country because our farmers take such pride in their stock and we are 'the' market for the Rough Fell Sheep Breeders’ Association Sales.

We have fortnightly sales of cast and feeding cows, store and breeding cattle and store lambs on Thursdays and weekly sales on Tuesdays of rearing calves, prime hoggs and cast ewes. Our store cattle at Kendal are mainly beef-bred and under 15 months old.
