Come and Visit Us
At J36 we welcome all visitors, you don’t have to be a farmer and you don’t need any special permission to visit us. We are a public auction, just come along. HRH The Prince of Wales visited us recently and commented 'what a remarkable facility you have built here'.
Experience how an auction mart works and soak up the unique atmosphere. Our livestock sales are held weekly on a Tuesday and Thursday with additional sales held seasonally, check our sales calendar for details.
You can expect to see and hear things associated with an auction mart on these days, from fantastic farmers’ banter to sawdust on the floor, and of course, the sound and smell of the auction is quite unique. We only ask that no flash photography is used in the sales rings as it can startle the animals.
School groups are welcomed and can safely watch an auction from the viewing galleries without the need to access the penning areas.
On non-sale days we may be holding an antiques sale or have viewing for a forthcoming sale. If staff are cataloguing items, the saleroom could be closed but please call in and ask. We may be able to arrange a private viewing or chat to you about any items you have for valuation.
If we have no sales, then our café is always open, Monday to Friday. You can see our menu on the right and, on livestock sale days, the café does an additional special roast menu at a fantastic price.
