Our First Sheep Sale at J36

We held our very first sale at the new Kendal Auction 'J36' on Tuesday 12 February, just one week after leaving the old Appleby Road site.  It was quite an emotional time for those of us who have worked on the project for many years, we counted nearly 500 people around the ring as the sale got underway and we are so thankful for all the kind words and wishes offered to us as we start this new journey for North West Auctions.  We are proud to say we now have two of the very best auction marts in the northwest and we are proud to be of service to you.

We have so many pictures to share with you but by clicking on the link below you will be taken to our facebook gallery of the day (dont worry, you dont need to be on facebook yourself to see these photos)

A New Era for Kendal Auction at J36

We are so pleased to be finally moving in to our brand new auction at Junction 36 of the M6 next to Moss End Farm, Crooklands.  But it was with some sadness that we locked up at our old site on Appleby Road today (there were a few tears shed as many of the staff have worked here for most of their careers and there was just something about the old site that will ensure we hold good memories for many years to come); but we look forward to a new era and good times at our brand new auction on J36 Rural Auction Centre.  We will be holding our first livestock sale on 12 February, get there early and enjoy a great breakfast in our new cafe and be part of a bit of history for Kendal Auction.  We enjoyed a fantastic open day today where our customers saw a small insight in to what we will have on offer over the next few weeks as we complete the final touches and our tenants fit out their own units.

Thank you for all your good wishes today and for the great feedback, we hope to do you proud over the coming weeks, months and years.

Last sales in the Old kendal Market

We have had news today that tomorrow, thursday 31st January will be the last thursday sale in the old market. The following tuesday 5th February will mark the last and final sale at the Appleby Road site when we sell prime sheep and store pigs. We hope many of our friends and customers will come down and join us on these special days. Meanwhile the final preparations are taking place to make the new mart at J36 ready for operation once we leave the town centre.

Roll on 2013

NWA is looking forward to 2013 with optimistic hope and expectation. Clearly we are disappointed as are many of our customers that the New J36 market has not yet become operational. Everything possible is being done to get us over the finish line. Until then we keep on working away in the old market and we give thanks to all farmers who have supported us in this.

Lancaster Auction continues to to trade succesfully at every Monday and friday sale and we are heartened to see new and returning customers for both store and primestock.

We have a supreme challenge ahead of us to ensure the future success of both our markets and our goal in 2013 will be to offer the best service we can provide, stay profitable and keep improving in all that we do. We want the marts at kendal and Lancaster to be enjoyable places to visit and do business. A warm welcome awaits in 2013.

On behalf of North West Auctions, may we wish you a happy and successful New Year.
