The weekly sale of calves had a reduced number of calves forward with many in the area busy lambing. Black and whites sold to £175 twice from CG Birkett of Carnforth and others from the same home selling to £140. There were plenty of people in the market looking for calves as end of lambing approaches and people are looking to fill empty lambing pens.

Looking to the future the decision has been made to move the sale fortnightly to co-inside with the fortnightly sale of store cattle and cast cows. This is to the advantage of both vendors and purchasers creating a larger sale and therefore a larger choice of calves for purchasers and a stronger trade for the vendors. We hope you understand our decision and look forward to your continued support.
