Lancaster Monthly Dairy Sale

A reduced entry forward for the March Dairy sale at Lancaster, however, with a ringside of buyers trade was stronger than expected for all classes.
The pre-sale show was kindly judge by Miss Evie Gibbons of St Michaels, who placed the first prize Halter-Led heifer, Lot 11, Saltoke Amazing Doris 195 as her Champion of the day. Bred from two immediate generations of VG & EX cows and sold giving 30 litres, she later went on to sell for the sales top price of £1700.
Taking the reserve champion was Lot 12, Whitecarr Iota Lori, from David Noblet of Kirkham. She sold for £1680, to Messers Blockley of Cheshire.
Nine active buyers ringside help lead to an overall sale average of £1320 for all Heifers forward, with five going home with empty trailers.
