A larger entry of prime hoggs forward at Lancaster sold to a market average of 175ppk. A mixed entry forward in terms of quality. Well finished hoggs easily sold with more could have been sold to an eager ring of buyers with well fleshed pens of continental and Suffolk hoggs regularly selling towards 200ppk. A consignment of Charolais hoggs from P Lawrenson of Walmsley Fold sold to £99 or 210ppk. Light weight hoggs well finished easily sold with hoggs lacking finishing today penalised.

The cast ewe trade continues to improve with continental ewes selling over £100 for the best sorts. Topping at £105 from JM & MH France & Son of Newhouse Farm. Big mule ewes generally selling around the seventy pound mark with all mule ewes forward averaging £64.
