Lancaster annual Christmas show and sale of Dressed Poultry had an entry of 380 forward for the sale. The pre-sale show was judged by Kathryn Ayrton of Cockerham who awarded the first prize goose to an 18lb bird from RJ & JT Smith of Poulton le Fylde selling for £70. The first prize turkey was awarded to David Barton of Sunny Bank with a 15lb bird selling to £50.

A strong goose trade with geese selling to market average of approximately £4 a pound. Chicken and Ducks keenly bird for with chickens regularly selling over £2 a pound. Ducks sold between £2 and £3 a pound depending on the quality of bird. A brisk turkey trade from start to finish with the trade topping at £80 for a 22lb from David Barton of Sunny Bank with heavy weight turkeys weighing 37lb turkeys from R Hodgson of Helmside selling to £75. The trade saw turkeys average towards £2.45 a pound with 12-16lb in strongest demand.
