Northern Area Charollais Show & Sale at J36 Monday 7th September

Posted Monday, 07 September 2015, 12.45pm

A great show of sheep judged very kindly and with great professionalism by Ann Loftus.

The winner of the James Huddleston Trophy and championship was awarded to FH & M Kennedy, Wester Parkgate with a fantastic well grown Shearling Ram by the Champion Junior Stock Ram from South of Scotland Flock Competition Parkgate Nailer, with reserve Champion going to the same good home.

Prices didn’t reflect the quality of sheep forward with the top price of 360gns and 350gns going to D & J Normans Kirkhouse flock for two Kirkhouse Optimus sons, the Fosters flock also attained 350gns twice. Kenton Foster topped the Shearling Rams 350gns.

Females were up to 350gns for a classy ewe from Stephen Pickthalls Aldby flock, gimmer shearlings to 280gns from D & J Norman and 240gns from Stephen Pickthall.

Ewe lambs peaked at 260gns with a smart lamb from I M Jaeban with a lamb by a Kirkhouse sire.
